U.D.O.: New Album Delayed
October 14, 2010U.D.O., the German metal band led by former ACCEPT frontman Udo Dirkschneider, has issued the following update:
"The release of the new [U.D.O.] album, 'Rev-Raptor', which was initially planned for January 14, 2011 [via AFM Records] was unfortunately postponed to March 18, 2011! The reason therefor is the sadly reappearance of Stefan's [Kaufmann, guitar] strong back suffering which forced him to quit playing drums in ACCEPT back in the days. This setback hit Stefan in the middle of the recording session for the new album and forced everybody to make a longer pause now. Stefan is under medical treatment at a specialist and we all hope that he will recover soon. The show on November 6, 2010 in Augsburg where U.D.O. will be headliner in front of 9,000 expected fans at the Masters of Rock Antenne festival in the Schwabenhalle is not compromised."
As spreviously reported, 17 new songs were written for "Rev-Raptor", with 11 of them set to appear on the final product.
U.D.O.'s last album, "Dominator", entered the official chart in Germany at position No. 27. This marked the highest German chart entry in U.D.O.'s history.
